BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen welcomes Navy Personnel to The Baptist College of Florida - (l to r) YNC Williams, LT Davis, LT Walton, Kinchen, CDR Morgan, and retired Navy Chaplain Roger Richards, BCF Dean of Students.

For several years, The Baptist College of Florida (BCF) has been identified as a Military Friendly school providing online and nontraditional education to active duty military members and their families. In support of training and equipping men and women for areas of service, BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen welcomed Navy Recruiters to the Graceville campus and expressed appreciation for the service they provide to the nation.

Navy guests included CDR Breckenridge Morgan, Executive Officer of Navy Recruiting District, Atlanta, who will be the new Commanding Officer on May 26. He was accompanied by YNC Eric Williams, the Officer Programs Recruiter, Navy Recruiting Station, Montgomery, LT Ammie Davis, Chaplain Programs Recruiter, Navy Recruiting District, Atlanta, and LT Matt Walton, Officer Programs Recruiter.

The military representatives visited the BCF campus to introduce the incoming Commanding Officer, Navy Recruiting District, Atlanta, and to express appreciation for the support The Baptist College of Florida has been to the Navy Recruiting Command. High school seniors who qualify for Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps must be interviewed by a naval officer. The Baptist College of Florida has two retired Navy Chaplains on staff and one of them has interviewed numerous candidates over the past year. In addition, prospective Chaplain candidates must be interviewed by active or retired Navy Chaplains in the rank of Lieutenant Commander or above. LT Davis, the Chaplain recruiter, was pleased to meet two BCF staff members who would be able to perform these interviews for future Chaplain Candidates.

BCF continues to train men and women to serve our nation's military and also participates in the recruitment and selection of sea service members for future generations. This is just one aspect of The Baptist College of Florida being a "Military Friendly" college.
